Local Cartage in Metro Vancouver — Our Trusted Carrier Network

Flagship Logistics coordinates local deliveries throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland through our trusted network of vetted carrier partners. When you call us for a local pickup or delivery, you deal with one point of contact — we handle carrier selection, scheduling, and communication on your behalf. That means real accountability, direct communication, and consistent service every time.

Our cartage service is particularly well-suited for container pickup from Port Metro Vancouver's marine terminals — Deltaport (Roberts Bank), Vanterm (Burrard Inlet), and Centerm — with final delivery to warehouses, industrial facilities, and retail distribution centres across Metro Vancouver. We understand the urgency of port-related cartage: demurrage charges accumulate daily once free time expires, and our team is built to respond fast.

Whether you need a single pickup or a regular daily route, we can build a cartage program around your operation. Our facility at Unit 183 – 6355 Graybar Rd, Richmond, BC serves as our dispatch hub and a staging point for cargo between pickups and deliveries.

What Is LTL Freight — and When Should You Use It?

LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) freight is the right choice when your shipment doesn't fill an entire 53-foot trailer. Instead of paying for a full truck, your freight shares space with other shippers' goods — and you only pay for the portion of the trailer your cargo occupies.

LTL is ideal for businesses shipping palletized goods, industrial equipment, or merchandise weighing anywhere from a few hundred kilograms up to about 10,000 kg. It's a cost-effective option for regular shipments that need to move between BC and Alberta, Ontario, or other provinces without waiting to consolidate enough freight for a full truckload.

Flagship Logistics brokers LTL freight from Metro Vancouver across Canada through our network of vetted Canadian carriers. You deal with us — we handle carrier selection, pickup scheduling, documentation, and any issues in transit.

What Is FTL Freight — and When Does It Make Sense?

FTL (Full Truckload) freight means your shipment occupies an entire truck or trailer — nothing else is loaded with your cargo. This is the preferred option for large, time-sensitive, or high-value shipments that justify the cost of a dedicated truck, or where co-mingling with other freight is not desirable.

FTL is typically faster than LTL because there are no additional stops to pick up or drop off other shippers' freight. A truckload moves point-to-point — your facility in Metro Vancouver to a destination in Calgary, Toronto, or anywhere else in Canada. FTL rates become competitive when your freight weighs over 10,000 kg or fills roughly 28+ linear feet of trailer space.

For full truckload moves, we can arrange dedicated capacity through carriers we trust and have worked with personally. You deal with us — we handle the coordination from BC to wherever your freight needs to go.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Metro Vancouver cities do you cover for local cartage?

We coordinate cartage throughout Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley — including Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Delta, Langley, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, New Westminster, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, White Rock, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Mission. We're based in Richmond — minutes from Port Metro Vancouver's Deltaport, Vanterm, and Centerm terminals.

How do I know if LTL or FTL is right for my shipment?

A useful rule of thumb: if your shipment is under 10,000 kg or takes up fewer than 28 linear feet of trailer space, LTL is usually more cost-effective. If your freight fills a full trailer — or if transit time, cargo security, or minimal handling is a priority — FTL often makes more sense. Contact us and we'll help you figure out the best option based on your actual freight dimensions and destination.

How quickly can you pick up containers from Deltaport or Vanterm?

We prioritize port pickups because demurrage charges accumulate daily once free time expires. For local cartage from Port Metro Vancouver terminals, we can typically arrange same-day or next-day pickup. Contact us as early as possible — ideally as soon as your vessel arrival is confirmed — so we can pre-plan the move.

What provinces can you arrange LTL freight to?

We can arrange LTL freight to all ten Canadian provinces and all three territories. We work with truckers we know personally — not a random dispatch board — so you're getting LTL service from someone who's been vetted by us, not just the cheapest available.

Can you handle oversized or project cargo?

Yes — for local cartage we can handle non-standard loads, and for heavier or larger oversized freight, or long-haul oversized moves, we can arrange the right equipment through carriers we know and work with personally.
